Big Poinciana Energy is a celebration of the poinciana (Delonix regia). Although a native to Madagascar, the poinciana tree has, with time, become a quintessential Brisbane icon. The tree's bright red and orange flowers bloom in the spring, dotting the city's older suburbs with its cheerful fan-shaped flowers — a smiling sign that summer is coming and a warning that the storm season is on its way.

I respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, who are the traditional custodians of the land on which I live and work. Sovereignty was never ceded. I pay my respects to Elders past and present.
